about

Likened to the quiet and meditative solo works of Loren MazzaCane Connors and Doug McCombs, Eiji Mitomi explores the emotional possibilities of the guitar. Hikari no Tabi (Dream of Light) begins its excursion with a gentle flute melody and slowly builds a series of tracks that conjure sadness, anxiety, and all of the liminal emotional spaces in between. The beginnings of most journeys are met with uncertainties and a sense of powerlessness, and it is only when we recount and reflect upon of its encounters and partings that we realize that something beautiful has been achieved. Hikari no Tabi is such a journey, where memories are sweet and the future is bright.
